Raising Children
Our Preacher has been doing a study of Revelation and today he was talking about the rapture. I think because of everything happening in our government now, every time I am reminded of the rapture I think of my children. I am looking forward to going and being with my Savior, but at the same time I am concerned for my children's salvation. I don't what the age of accountability is, but I know my oldest, Mark III, will soon be able to understand. It has been on my mind alot lately. I want to make sure I am doing everything possible to raise him so that he will want to accept Jesus as his Savior. I know I need to step it up. It is scary to think that something that I do could keep my children from getting saved. Please pray for me and other Christian parents as we do our best to raise our children for the Lord, that the Lord would give us wisdom and strength day by day.

Hi, Tiffany, this is Jen Bauer from MBBC. Just a word of encouragement. I was really concerned about Autumn's salvation and when she would understand. I just kept praying that when she was ready the Lord would bring her to us. My biggest fear was that the rapture would take place and she wouldn't be saved. I kept praying the same prayer. One night she came to us with questions. I prayed the whole time, and she accepted Christ as her Savior. You can check on my blog to read about it. It was January 28 (you'll have to look in the archives). By the way, she was six. Not that that age is the age of understanding, but that is when she finally understood. Hope that's an encouragement.
ReplyDeleteHi, Jen, I went back and read your post. That is great and exciting! I am sure it has to be one of the best feelings to see one of your children saved! Mark and I both want our children to come to us because like you said, they will just say a prayer to please us. I think in so many Christian homes that is what is happening and it is sad.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting, it was an encouragement to me. It is just encouraging sometimes to see other Christian parents who are trying to serve the Lord and raise their children for Him,too.
