I'm Back!
I know it has been awhile since I have posted! Several things have happened in my life since I last posted.
My husband and I have been through some tough times in the past 7 to 8 months, but God has been faithful and is still bringing us through it! Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." This verse has really become real for me in these past months. We wonder why things happen the way they do, but God always has a plan.
We attend a different church now because the pastor resigned where we were going. When we first started looking for a church we weren't sure where we were going to go, because there aren't many good churches in our area. We knew of a good one we could attend but it is an hour drive one way. We knew we wanted to be involved in whatever church we found and it would be very difficult being an hour away. The Lord led us to one that is 25 to 30 minutes away (half the distance). We go to Victory Baptist Church in Selinsgrove, Pa. The first time we visited this church the pastor resigned here, too, but he had a man and his family lined up to come and candidate so we decided to stay and meet the new family. Pastor Rines had a vote of 98% and became the new pastor. Their family has been such an encouragement and the people of the church have been so nice! The Pastor and his family are wonderful! His wife and I have already become good friends! I know the Lord led us to this church and we our now members and our serving in different ministries: I play the piano for Sunday School (my husband leads the singing in Sunday school) and Sunday night service; my husband and I sing in the choir and special music; my husband is the assistant Sunday school teacher. I also can play my violin for offertory whenever I want. I am enjoying getting more practice and being able to use it for the Lord! We are so happy to be serving the Lord in this church. I love the fact that Pastor Rines cares about my children and shows it by talking to them and interacting with them. So glad that our children can sing together for a special and use what talents they have even at their young age for the Lord.
I hope this will be an encouragement to someone who might be going through hard times. My family had been through some hard times these past months, but God has brought good out of it! I know He can do the same for anyone!
