Hiking

Sometimes it is nice to get someone to babysit the children so Mark and I can spend some time together. We had hiked 7.5 miles of the Appalachian trail for our anniversary. We wanted to hike the next part before it got too cold. So, Mark and I left the children at his partents house and went hiking yesterday. We were about ready to start hiking. We had a backpack with drinks and a couple other things in it. Well, my husband locked the doors to the Suburban and put the keys in the backpack. It was sitting in the front seat. Well, the door came back and shut locking us out of the vehicle. We were almost an hour from home so we weren't going back to get keys and weren't about to go hiking without anything to drink. Can you guess what my husband did? Yes, he broke a window with a rock to get in. We had to break into our own vehicle. Sad.
Well, anyway we hiked another part of the Appalachian trail. We hiked 9.5 miles in three and a half hours. It was up and down the mountain. There were some points I didn't think I was going to be able to go any further, but my husband cheered me on. We did it! We are both feeling it in our legs today, but we had a great day! It is awesome to be up on the mountain and look out and see the beauty of God's creation!

  1. I can't believe you had to break a window, why didn't you just call, maybe someone could have ran a key to you. Wow, well, it gives you something to blog about. Wait till you read mine.
Glad you had fun anyway, and did not let the window ruin your day.
